About the Register of Deeds office:
The Register of Deeds Office is located on the main floor of the
Calumet County Courthouse, and in addition to the Register of
Deeds position, employs one full time Deputy Register of Deeds,
and one part-time floater position. In August 2002, a
computerized indexing and imaging system was installed. In 2003,
the Register of Deeds office recorded in excess of 24,000
documents. In addition to entering new documents into the system
on a day forward basis, most of the older documents were
back-scanned and indexed. All the real estate documents are
computerized and the images preserved electronically. At this
time, all documents are scanned daily except vitals. This
project has allowed the Calumet County Register of Deeds to
better serve individuals, professional customers and other
county departments. |
