About the Register of Deeds office:
In addition to the Register of Deeds, there are
three full time staff members. In 2003 the Register of Deeds
Office recorded just fewer than 20,000 documents which was the
highest number ever recorded in the office. Imaging of documents
began in 2002 and the computerized tract index originated in
January 1997. The Grantor/Grantee listings have been computerized
since 1981. The office is presently in a conversion of microfilm
to images. A goal for the next year is to access information from
the Register of Deeds via Internet. Capability of viewing a Web
