 About Gayle:
I come to the ROD office from the "outside". When I
decided to run for this office I was a clinic manager for three
clinics in northeastern Minnesota. I have been in the health care
field for over thirty years as a Registered Medical
Technologist (ASCP), Laboratory Director, and clinic manager. I have
a bachelor of science degree in medical technology, a certification
in Gerontology, and a Ph.D. in administration. I have a strong
commitment to civic involvement and community service. I am the
treasurer for the Douglas County Democratic Party, board president
for North Country Independent Living, and vice president of the
board for Metro Credit Union where I hold a position on the
supervisor committee, the human resources committee and I also serve
on the government affairs committee for the Wisconsin Credit Union
League.I am a member of the Sons of Norway,
VFW Auxiliary, National Organ Donor Family Council, and an educator
for LifeSource (the upper midwest organ procurement organization). |

About the Register of Deeds office:
In 1997, the Douglas County Register of Deeds
office converted to an imaging system and computerized index for
its land records. Since that time, we have back-indexed and
scanned documents back to mid-1992. At the time of this writing,
we are in the process of purchasing software so the documents that
have been scanned will be available on the Internet. We hope to
have this available by the end of Summer. We are also in the
process of getting our Birth, Death, and Marriage records scanned
and in computerized indexes. We hope when these projects are
completed, it will enable us to provide better service to
individuals, professional customers, and other county departments. |
