About
Marilyn: Marilyn Pierce assumed her duties as the Grant
County Register of Deeds in 1983. Prior to her election she worked
in the office as a clerk beginning in 1977 and was later promoted to
Deputy Register of Deeds. Marilyn grew up in Dubuque, Iowa, and
attended Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids. She married Ron Pierce
in 1976 and they own and operate a dairy farm near Lancaster,
Wisconsin, since 1988. Marilyn is active in the Republic Party and
is a member of Grant County Republican Women. After office hours and
on weekends, Marilyn is often busy helping her husband with farm
chores. She enjoys reading, gardening, and cooking. |

About the Register of Deeds office:
The Grant County Register of Deeds has one full time deputy,
one full time assistant deputy, and two part time staff persons in
addition to herself. The computerized grantor-grantee index for real
estate records was established in 1989. The real estate imaging
system was implemented in 1998. Many genealogists visit the office
and it is not necessary to make an appointment for this type of
research. |
