About the Register of Deeds office:  The office has 1 full time employee and 2 part-time people. This office is quite busy with genealogists and title searchers. Searching is open Monday through Friday 8:00 to 4:30 although we do not make copies after 3:00.

Birth records start in 1879, death 1872 and marriage 1838. We also have land records from 1836 when we were part of Iowa County. The office has a computerized indexing and imaging system that started in 1996. Since the year 2000 everything is entered into the computer.
