About the Register of Deeds office:
The Iowa County Register of Deeds has a staff of two deputies. When
Dixie became register of deeds in 1997, she implemented a
computerized tract index and imaging system. Back scanning and
indexing are done as time allows with a goal of capturing real
estate records and document images from 1990 forward. The vital
records indexes, including births, deaths, marriages for grooms and
marriages for brides, are all computerized and available on public
computers and computer printouts. Genealogists appreciate the
user-friendly methods of accessing these records. |
