| About Christie:
Christie Bender assumed her duties as the Juneau
County Register of Deeds in 1997. Prior to her election she worked
in the office beginning in 1979 and was promoted to Deputy
Register of Deeds position in 1981. Christie is a long- time
resident of Juneau County. She graduated from the University of
Wisconsin, Platteville campus. She is married to Richard Bender
and they have two children and one grandson. Christie is a member
of St. Mathews Evangelical Lutheran Church and attends services at
the sister church of St. John’s in Kendall. She is a member of the
Juneau County Republican Party, the Wisconsin Association of
County Officers, the Wisconsin County Constitutional Officers, the
Wisconsin Land Information Association, the Juneau County Land
Records Modernization Committee and the Juneau County Historical
Society. Christie is interested in the preservation of wildlife
habitat and is a member of the North Branch Turkey Federation and
a Host Committee Member for the Headwaters Chapter of Ducks
Unlimited. She enjoys line dancing, gardening, sewing, baking and
caring for her grandson. |

About the Register of Deeds office: The
Juneau County Register of Deeds has two full-time employees and
one half-time employee in addition to herself. The computerized
tract index and imaging system was established in May, 1999. The
real estate documents were back-scanned to 1979. There is also an
on-going project to enter older records from December of 1979
through September of 1989 into the computerized tract index.
Beginning in December of 2003, the new birth, death and marriage
records are scanned and preserved in the imaging system. |
