About the Register of Deeds office The Register of Deeds office consists of the Registrar, 2 deputies and 2 entry clerks. We have real estate document images on computer back to 1963, however most can only be accessed by the document number as they are not indexed. We have been indexing documents working backwards and are currently working on 1987. Everything from 1988 forward should be complete except for plats. We offer Laredo & Tapestry online services for searching real estate records 24 hours, seven days a week. In Nov. 2007 we started accepting credit cards for copies of vital records and real estate documents through Official Payment Corp. Sometime in 2008 we will be getting E-recording software so we can offer that option to our customers. In 2008 we are also scheduled to begin scanning and indexing our vital records for easier access and for disaster recovery. We hope when these projects are completed, it will enable us to provide even better service to individuals, professional customers and other county departments.
