About Pamela:
Pamela Waukau was elected Menominee County Register
of Deeds and assumed her duties in 1991. Prior to her election,
she served as Deputy County Clerk. Pamela graduated from
Intermountain Indian School in Brigham City, Utah, and she
attended Salt Lake City Technical College in Utah. Pamela has been
a resident of Menominee County for most of her adult life. She is
also the Menominee County Clerk of Courts and actually spends the
majority of her time in that office while her Deputy Register of
Deeds, Margaret Fossum, spends more of her time in the Menominee
County Register of Deeds Office. Pamela volunteers her time
coaching and for other youth activities. She also helps with the
North American Indigenous Games held in the United States and
Canada on a rotating basis. Pam enjoys attending local and
out-of-state Pow-wows. |

About the Register of Deeds office:
Menominee County has a total of three employees serving in
Register of Deeds and Clerk of Courts Offices, which include
Pamela and her two deputies. A vendor was chosen in 1993 for a
computerized tract indexing and imaging system. The project seemed
to start well but unfortunately, the conversion is not complete
and progress is slow. In the year 2003, there were 926 real estate
document recorded in Menominee County.
