About the Register of Deeds office:
The office has one full-time deputy in addition to Monica.
Pepin County Register of Deeds office became computerized in
1994 when we received our first grant through the Land Records
Modernization Program. We installed a DOS based Grantor-Grantee
and tracting system at that time. In April of 2004 we updated
the DOS based system to a Windows version. In 2004 we installed
an imaging system and are working on back scanning of our record
books up to the time that we entered recordings in the computer. |

About
Pepin
County: - Wisconsin's smallest
county (total area land & water) lies in the heart of the Lower
Chippewa River State Natural Area and has been immortalized in
literature by Laura Ingalls Wilder's "Little House" books and
the Caddie Woodlawn stories. It's rich history is symbolized by
the stately Old Pepin County Courthouse, the last remaining
wood-framed courthouse in Wisconsin, which is now a museum
dedicated to preserving the history and traditions of Pepin
County. This ruggedly beautiful county has been shaped over the
centuries by two of Wisconsin's most important rivers, the
Chippewa and the Mississippi....it looks and feels much as it
did 150 years ago when it was first created by the state
legislature. Pepin County is Wisconsin's "Quiet Beauty".
