About Laurie: Laurie Anderson was appointed Polk County Register of Deeds by Governor Doyle in 2003. Prior to being appointed she worked twenty years in the office and had been promoted to Chief Deputy Register of Deeds. Laurie has lived most of her life in Polk County and graduated from Unity High School in Balsam Lake. Laurie is married and her husband is a truck driver.  They have two grown sons who reside in Grantsburg and Cumberland WI. She enjoys gardening, riding ATV, cooking and spending time with family and grandchildren.

About the Register of Deeds officeIn addition to the Register of Deeds, there are three (3) full time staff members to assist the public. Available to the public are four (4) public workstations.  Polk County has a computerized grantee/grantor index from the fall of 1995 and forward, and all documents are scanned. Documents are available on-line from the fall of 1995 and forward.  We are in the process of digitizing and back-keying all micro-fiche and aperture cards. The documents will also be redacted for social security numbers.  Please visit our website for further information.
