About the Register of Deeds office The Shawano County Register of Deeds has two full time employees in addition to herself. A computerized tract index and imaging system was installed in 1997. Documents were back-indexed and back-scanned to 1994. In January, 2003, a computerized index was set up for birth, death and marriages that is maintained daily. The oldest birth, death and marriage records from the 1800’s have been back-scanned through the 1920’s to preserve the images and provide better access.
