About Ellen: On November 24, 2005, Governor Jim Doyle announced that he was appointing Ellen Schleicher as Sheboygan County Register of Deeds beginning January 6, 2006. Ellen will be filling the vacancy created by the retirement of Darlene Navis, and will serve until term ending January 1, 2007.

Ellen Schleicher worked at the Kohler Company for 30 years, 15 of those years were as Recording Secretary of UAW Local 833. She serves on the Board of the Sheboygan Area Rebuild Together, is Chairperson of UAW 833 Community Services Committee, is active in 4-H and FFA. Ellen holds a BA degree in Business from Lakeland College and has also recently taken her Real Estate Licensing test. She along with her husband and four children reside in the Town of Lima, Sheboygan County.

About the Register of Deeds office The approximately two million recorded land records represent $6.2 billion dollars of real estate within the boundaries of Sheboygan County. Like most register of deeds, due to low interest rates we had a record setting year for recording in 2003. A new document management program was implemented called I-Document XF which allows real estate documents to be searched over the internet immediately following receipt. We offer Laredo and Tapestry online services for searching real estate records 24 hours, seven days a week.
