 About Rene: Rene’
Krause was elected as the Wood County Register of Deeds and began
her service in 1989. She had been the Deputy Register of Deeds for
a year, and prior to that she worked as an abstracter in Wood
County and for a LaCrosse abstracting firm. Rene’ was raised in
Hopkins, Minnesota and is a graduate of Hopkins High School. She
has one son. Rene’ lives in Wisconsin Rapids and is active in her
community. She enjoys reading, water skiing and downhill skiing. |

About the Register of Deeds office:
The Wood County Register of Deeds has four full time staff and one
part time staff person. Their computerized tract index and imaging
system was established January 1, 2000. Laredo online service is
offered to title companies and other frequent customers and
Tapestry online service is available for occasional customers.
Over 25,000 real estate documents were recorded in 2003, an all
time high for the office. Customers can use major credit cards for
an extra fee to obtain certified copies of birth, death and
marriage records.
