About the Register of Deeds Office
The Register of Deeds staff of 6 is experienced and knowledgeable to help you with real estate records and vital records. Rock County records between 1,700-3,000 documents per month, usually on the day they are received. We have also imaged most real estate records dating back to 1835. They are available in the office and online. Rock County has been E-Recording documents since 2006. We currently record about 80% of our documents electronically.
We are excited to have statewide issuance of Birth and Marriage Certificates. This means if you were born or married in Wisconsin, you are able to purchase a copy of that record at any Register of Deeds in the state. Some Death Certificates are available statewide and others are only available in the county in which they occurred.
In addition to Land Records and Vital Records, Rock County Plat Books are for sale in the Register of Deeds office.
