About the Register of  Deeds Office

The staff in the Buffalo County Register of Deeds office is dedicated to serving the public with the highest quality customer service. The office consists of one full time chief deputy in addition to the Register.

In addition to recording all real estate documents, we offer online searching of our real estate records 24 hours a day, seven days a week available by using one of two programs, Laredo Anywhere or Tapestry. The Buffalo County Register of Deeds also offers protection against property fraud, a notification system called Property Fraud Alert. We are working hard to get more documents added to our database and are currently working on documents back to the 1970's.

You can also obtain most vital records including birth, marriage, death and divorce certificates statewide. Please see our website for more information or come to the office in person. We also have Military Discharge papers.

We welcome genealogists, please call for an appointment.
