About the Register of Deeds Office
The staff in the Marquette County Register of Deeds office provides the highest quality of service. Our Office contains of one 50% deputy, in addition to the Register. Our regular hours are 8am to 4:30pm with our Genealogy hours being 9am to 4pm. We take great pride in recording all real estate documents in a timely matter. We are encouraging electronic recording of documents as much as possible. To set up electronic recording, please visit our website under the main Register of Deeds page to see the rerecording partners that we work with.
Our office did a software conversion on 6/27/2023 from GCS to Fidlar Technology. The two new online searching programs for real estate records are Laredo and Tapestry. You can go to our website under Register of Deeds/Online Document Search page and find their direct link to start your searching. We still have the Marquette County Tract Index under On Q Solutions Colortract. Direct link is https://marquette.colortract.com/.
On 7/19/2023 to cut expenses and streamline duties, the Register of Deeds office has moved to a tag-less recording system. A tag-less system means the paper document sent in for recording will no longer have a recording stamp placed on it and will be electronically returned with the recording stamp. The process is after the paper document is reviewed to meet all statutory requirements; it is scanned into the computer system. Our recording software assigns the document number and stamp to the electronic document. Once the document is recorded and indexed, it will be electronically returned to the submitter. The original document without stamp will be on file in the Register of Deeds office for 30 days following recording. At that time, the document will be destroyed. If you would like the original document back, you would need to pick up your documents prior to 30 days in our office or send a self-addressed stamped envelope with your paper recording. Please see our website under Register of Deeds/Document Recording page to see full tag-less terms and agreement.
As of June 2023, Marquette County has partnered with Official Records Online (ORO) as a convenience to get your vital records ordered online and mailed to your house. You can find their direct link on our website under Register of Deeds/Vital Records. Direct link is https://www.officialrecordsonline.com/OfficialRecordsOnline/Select/?state=WI&county=MARQUETTE.
