About the Register of  Deeds Office

The staff in this office consists of 3 full time and 1 part time employee.  This office strives to serve the public with respect and to provide quality customer service.  The Register of Deeds implemented a computerized tract index and document imaging system in 1997.  Images of real estate recordings have been back-scanned through 1887 to provide efficient access.  Oneida County has been electronically recording documents since March of 2016 and all documents are recorded the same day they are received.  Vital record requests are usually processed and filled the same day they are received.

Oneida County is a four-season destination and has over 60,000 tax parcels with a large number of second homes, cottages and recreational land scattered throughout the many waterways in the county.  Please visit the Oneida County website to access the tax assessment and the interactive GIS mapping information.
